Who we are
Scottish Energy Efficiency is a trading name of Scot Energy Efficiency Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 17408629). Registered office: 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA. Edinburgh Solar Hub is a brand of Scottish Energy Efficiency. We are a renewable energy consultancy and introducer service. We do not carry out installations ourselves. We install through MCS-certified partners.

What we collect
When you use our quote form or contact us, we collect:
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number
- Property details: postcode, property type, ownership status, current heating, timeframe
- Service interest: which products you are enquiring about
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited (via cookies, where consented)
We do not collect sensitive personal data. We do not process data relating to children.
How we use your data
We use your information to:
- Match you with an appropriate MCS-certified installer partner
- Contact you about your enquiry (by phone, email or WhatsApp)
- Improve our website and services
- Comply with legal obligations
Lawful basis
Consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR): you give consent when you tick the checkbox on our quote form. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing info@scottishenergyefficiency.co.uk or calling 0141 230 0198.
Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)): we may contact you about related services where you have made an enquiry, subject to your right to opt out at any time.
Who we share your data with
- Installation partner: our MCS-certified installation partner, who contacts you to arrange a survey and provide a quote
- Zapier Inc. (USA): our form data is routed through Zapier, which processes data under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for EU/UK transfers
- Google: analytics data where you have consented to analytics cookies
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with any party not listed above.
How long we keep your data
We retain your enquiry data for 24 months from the date of your last interaction with us. After this period, your data is securely deleted. If you withdraw consent, your data is deleted within 30 days.
Cookies
We use the following cookies:
- Strictly necessary: cookie consent preference (localStorage). No consent required.
- Analytics (Google Analytics via GTM): only set when you consent. These help us understand how visitors use the site. You can opt out at any time via the cookie settings button in the footer.
- Marketing (Google Ads via GTM): only set when you consent. Used to measure ad effectiveness.
We implement Google Consent Mode v2. All analytics and marketing cookies default to denied until you actively consent.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

- Rectify inaccurate data
- Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Restrict processing
- Data portability
